Scene on the North Shore - Election Day at Sunset Beach El
The saying goes "Politics Makes Strange Bedfellows" certainly applies to the North Shore. The sign wavers for one of THE REPUBLICANS were the Union leaders at largest hotel on the North Shore.
Go figure.

People that are very desperate to become elected into office, will sometimes sell themselves out. I think that's what happened here.

Hey folks, its OK to support whoever you want for public office. Just cuz you're in a union doesn't mean you have to vote democrat.

While individualy Union Democrats in the privacy of the voting booth will often switch and vote Republican, it is highly unusual for organized labor to work on behalf of a Republican candidate.
I have no doubt that some kind of deal has been cooked up with the Repbulican candidate CP and Local 5 Union. It is no cooincidence that CP started showing up at Union events supporting the Turtle Bay Boycott and the movement to stop the development and now the Union leaders at Turtle Bay are holding signs for her.
I'm not sure what the deal is but if it looks like a sell out, smells like a sell out, it usually is a sell out.

I for one greatly admire Carol Philips for being the only candidate to stand up to Turtle Bay's plan to build 5 hotels on the North Shore. If the hotel workers union wants to help her than that's great too! We need more people like Carol in public office, people who stand up for what's right for our community.

CP is NOT the only one to stand up to Turtle Bay. Both MM and DDC did it through the legislature, but without the camera grabbing, grandstanding, insincere gestures. Go look at some of the shirts in the Turtle Bay bar. CP was taking money from the hotel for her contests. Hypocrite.

Lets face it CP wants to get on board the entitlement train (read "government employee"). What does she really stand for? What does she do for a living? Besides showing up for photo ops, what kind of community work has she done?
