Keep the North Shore Sane

This blog will be about the North Shore of Oahu. The focus will be on the politics, economics and lifestyle of the North Shore. The North Shore is such a small place, people are often intimidated and do not speak their mind. Here you can speak your mind. I accept guest posts either by name or anonymously as long as they are not obscene. Let's argue, let's be opinionated and let's really dig down into the issues that affect our lives here on the North Shore of Oahu.

Does anyone know what is happening at Kammie's Market?

The rumor I heard is that the new owners have a major problem with proceeding with the building. Can someone who knows the scoop let us know what is happening? Anonymous replies are fne.

    They have been shut down.

Through the wireless I heard the property was supposed to keep some of the original construction. Kind of like you see remodels where a wall stays or the chimney stays in a "remodel". They knocked everything down and now they got big problems.

They might not be able to build a store there. I heard it is not commercial zoning.

I had heard it was going to be a Deli and Surf Shop. If it going to be a Post Office, does that mean the Federal Govt. is making them do it? It's not a big building, but now definately an eye sore.

It's true Kammie's was grandfathered in as commercial property because the area's zoning is residential. The new owners were supposed to keep the outside walls and didn't, so now they have a zoning problem. The surf shop was to be another Quiksilver shop with a Deli also.
