Gil Riviera and Carol Philips Are REPUBLICANS?

So the party of Ronald Reagan, George Bushes, Dick Cheney and John McCain is also the party of Gil Riviera and Carol Philips? I saw that Gil is running in the primary for the North Shore Senate seat and we all have to assume the perpetual candidate Carol is going to run (would someone please give this woman a job).

I also heard that Gil worked in Mike Magaoay's office. Was he a Republican then?

Call me cynical, OK, really cynical, but do you think they are both running as Republicans because they do not have a prayer of beating Michael in a Democrat primary?

I can not think of any aspiring politicians that are more left than these two "Republicans". I guess I should not be surprised as our "Republican" Gov. Lingle wants to nationalize Turtle Bay Resort.
