Keep the North Shore Sane

This blog will be about the North Shore of Oahu. The focus will be on the politics, economics and lifestyle of the North Shore. The North Shore is such a small place, people are often intimidated and do not speak their mind. Here you can speak your mind. I accept guest posts either by name or anonymously as long as they are not obscene. Let's argue, let's be opinionated and let's really dig down into the issues that affect our lives here on the North Shore of Oahu.

Come on now, the bridge closure will not be too bad.

I read the Advertiser this AM about the Bridge closure and was quite surprised to see (in print anyway) that Mike Lyons sounded pretty ticked off. I've always found him to be a very even keeled guy, kind of mellow. I think when you resurface a bridge that is barely 2 lanes wide, you have close the thing down.

Don't worry Mike, we'll be OK. The tourists will find Haleiwa Joes, the locals won't mind driving up to Weed Circle. Heck, we drive 45 minutes to go to the movies. If it makes you feel any better, the people in Kailua have been dealing with major road construction for more than a year. If the bridge to Lanakai was closed, I am sure the city and county would do double time because that is the only way in and out of that place. To compare that to a minor inconveniece is a bit over the top. Maybe the Advertiser misquoted you?

I for one am happy that is going to get done.

Sidewalks next anyone???
