Guest Post - Defend Oahu Coalition Wants You To Protest
If you prefer the New Kona over the Old Kona, and Ka’anapali on Maui is your idea of real Hawaii, you will love what Oaktree Capital Management has planned for for O’ahu. To show how much you love the plans, or how much you despise them, follow these instructions:
MAKE CALLS! CALL Mayor Mufi Hannemann @ 523-8341. So far he's been very silent on this issue.
CALL Henry Eng @ 523-4432. He is the Director of Planning and Permitting.
CALL Your City Councilman. go to www.honolulu.gov/council/ccl.htm
CALL Zoning Committee Chairman Charles Djou @ 547-7004
TAKE ACTION:
Oct. 14 - Make Signs at Ehukai Beach: bring broken surf boards, pieces of wood, banner material - anything to paint/ write on. Bring a pot luck dish to share as well. We will be making sings from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We want to line Kam Hwy with these signs and use them at our upcoming vigil.
Oct 15 - Sign waving in front of Turtle Bay Resort from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
RALLY Wednesday October 25th in front of the Turtle Bay Resort or downtown at Honolulu Hale from 4-6 pm. Bring signs, family and friends.
